Our team was honoured to be invited to Warren and Mahoney’s Christchurch Studio for the fourth instalment of Amplify: The Creator Series.
It was great to have the opportunity to explore and share some of our creative process and challenges with such an enthusiastic and engaged crowd. Lots of laughs (thanks Rich) and such interesting reflections.
A really inspiring initiative, and an honour to be part of it. Thanks to the organisers for the opportunity, to all who attended, and to Joseph Hampton, Architect and Principal and Warren and Mahoney Architects, for his considered commentary on the event.
“A stunning feature-length documentary celebrating Sir Miles Warren and Maurice Mahoney’s influential architectural partnership, MAURICE AND I is a celebration of creativity and collaboration. A very special thanks to co-creators Rick Harvie, Jane Mahoney, Richard Lord and Mike Kelland who shared their creative process and their own story of partnership behind the construction of this extraordinary film.
Our reflections:
Take the leap – opportunities are fleeting. Don’t hesitate.
The diversity of thought and talent that comes from collaborative partnerships can transform the ordinary into the extra ordinary.
Be agile – openness to late input can deliver the punchline.
Prepare – organisation earns you the right to spontaneity.
Find clarity – cut the immaterial – the end result will prosper.
As architects, designers and creators, we share a common passion for partnership, collaboration and creative excellence. A huge thank you to Rick, Jane, Richard and Mike who shared their process, inspiration and creative approach that they apply to their craft.” Joseph Hampton, Architect and Principal at Warren and Mahoney Architects
